As the result of an artistic dialogue that began in a shared studio in Leipzig, this series of digital images was created by merging the painting and graphic works of Lisa Wölfel with fragments of spam emails, messages, and social media feeds.

In recent years, we have come to perceive our digital spaces as extensions of our homes—from personal websites we design like interior walls to social networks where we gather those most meaningful to us. While spam typically represents the impersonal and intrusive, “home” signifies its stark opposite: the most intimate and protected of spaces.

In a world overwhelmed by information noise, where each of us receives countless unsolicited messages, the boundary between the animated and the inanimate becomes increasingly blurred. The images in this series, generated with the help of artificial intelligence, incorporate the actual addresses of received messages. In this way, each work carries an anonymous “co-author,” embedded in its structure yet remaining forever incognito.
