SUPERPOSITION | 2019 | AUGMENTED REALITY, INSTALLATION
PAST SHOWS
2019 Experiential time. ARTIM project space. Baku, Azerbaijan
This installation challenges the conventional, linear perception of time and space by drawing on studies in quantum physics, particularly the theory that objective reality may not exist. Rooted in the principle of quantum superposition—which suggests that an object can exist in multiple states simultaneously—the work proposes an alternative understanding of space-time: not as a continuum of distinct moments, but as a granular structure composed of entangled loops.
By rejecting linear chronology, the installation reflects on how humanity increasingly constructs its future within the framework of alternative, digitally mediated realities. Through the use of augmented reality, the viewer encounters a non-existent digital persona—an imagined being from a speculative future—who narrates a story from beyond our current temporal logic, offering reflections on a transformed world.
The work becomes a meditation on perception, existence, and the evolving nature of reality in the age of technological simulation.
